With that being said, it’s important to point out what artists can do to increase the odds in every direction. The first step is to build a fan base, the next step is to create a strategy around keeping them engaged.

In this article, I’m going to talk about how you can create a formula around your brand, as well as how you can repeat it for future releases and events.

I — personally — like to look at content creation like this: when you have failures or setbacks look inward (yourself) & when you have success look outward (your fans).

It’s important to know the difference because most people do the opposite, one key to sustainable success is learning to focus on the right areas of improvement.

So when it comes to engaging and expanding your fan base, the rules of success can be broken down into two simple components.

  1. Consistency = Inward (You)
  2. Creativity = Outward (Fan Base)

It’s about being 100% — INTENTIONAL — with your branding. Using branding as a vehicle to engage your fan base is the perfect formula when you combine creativity and consistency.

Why? Because it’s a repeatable formula that is “unique” to you. It’s about time, effort and making the right moves. The beautiful thing about music is that people are heavily ‘triggered’.

So when you can provide an experience with consistent branding, people will always come back for more. Let’s go ahead and get started below.

1. Branded Instagram Live

Instagram is a great platform for artists for many reasons, with one of the most value producing sections being Instagram Live. As we’ve seen with many artists, it’s a place where you can directly connect with your fans and create conversations around your brand.

One way to take it farther is by having branded Instagram Lives, as we’ve seen with Tory Lanez and the success of Quarantine Radio, Money Man and Crypto; with the most infamous being Boosie being repeatedly
